TGIF

Posted by PandaFan at 11:49 AM on June 8, 2007 in Site Stuff, Books & General Babble.

1 week until vaca and I just simply cant wait. I am trying to prepare everything in advance so that when I can go - whoosh - I am gone. It's not easy but, I'm going to keep trying my hardest dang it.

Trying to throw a wrench in the mix is my computer. I have received teh blue screen of death. I have tried and tried to get that baby to load windows in any way shape or form and, it just goes back to blue. Sucks really. Especially since my computer didnt come with a Windows disk. Can you say - oh my how much does that blow?

So, I have had a few nights off of the telephone job and will probably have the weekend off as well since I dont know if I am going to be able to pick up any time. It's odd. It's also gonna suck in two weeks when the paycheck comes around but, what the heck can I do? pthbth. Whatever....the cats could loose some weight (like I'd cut their food first) LOL.

Then, I get an email from the VP over there who wants to do lunch next Saturday with the area peeps. And he want to do it right in Braintree. Odder still. Poor guy picked Jimbo's though. God, do I have to eat? We aren't going until Sunday and even though i have to get up northward prior to going westward I am torn between starting vacation and meeting this guy, picking his brain, giving him my input, meeting locals in the same boat, etc.

Here's another lovely. I need to drop my car off for a/c service. I tried to hook up with a mechanic last weekend and you just wouldn't beleive it but, I am at least glad that it wasnt too terribly hot this week...whew. My dealer though said 800.00 for the work 2 years ago. Yes, dealer, I know but, still. What I'll get a break and only pay 650.00? Thats my guess at least.

yeah - is it Friday yet cuz, I could go on and on and on.

Everyone have a great weekend!

And the countdown begins

Posted by PandaFan at 01:19 PM on June 11, 2007 in Site Stuff, Books & General Babble.

Monday prior to vacation.

Can you tell I'm excited? A countdown? It's lovely.

Update from the trials and tribulations of Friday:

Needed a recharge for the a/c (Q***K Mazda sucks for wanting $800.00) however, I do have a blown CV so, that needs to be fixed this coming weekend. pbthbth. Ride in this am was fantabulous and chilly even.

No more blue screen of death --whew! Thanks to Heather and Jim for assisting with that one.

Didnt get alot done for vacation really but, Jim did get a list all written out of the meal plan/grocery list so, thats nice. We did pick up the meats so, I guess we are on our way. I also picked up about a months supply of cat food so, they wont starve...got the catlady coming to take care of them and the fish so, thats more all set.

I guess it's a pretty good start.

Intermetatarsal Neuroma

Posted by PandaFan at 05:52 PM on June 13, 2007 in Site Stuff, Books & General Babble.

Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Could change it around a bit and make it even more interesting or sexy even like intermetasexual nirvana, eh? I like the sounds of that much better. I bet it would feel alot better too.

So, thats my current issue. It's been an ongoing issue really and just lately has caused me to call up the doctors office to see a specialist about why the hell I cant walk and when they ask why I'm looking to see the doctor I say "for Pain and Suffering". They laughed at least.

So the doctor reviews what all has been going on (I leave out the 'I break down and cry and my boyfirend gets to wonder what the hell he could do about it on a regular basis' part though). He then proceeds to pick up my foot and press right on this one spot that just makes me want to kick him in the head (and I have dreams of the joy of causing pain back in that split second as well). Hells bells brother! How'd you do that? I have been rubbing and soaking and cushioning and all that all over my dang feet to try to help and gotten no where. See what an education and work experience gets ya?

Anyway heres what the nerve the bastid touched looks like and the low down on it all:

It's like a Toomah! (Thats tumor for you non Boston peeps).

So, there's hope and all that. Theres also already drugs and silly bumps in my shoes. I get to go on vacation and can do easy stuff and ice the affected areas twice a day and all should be well. We'll see. In the mean time, I'm having great fun trying not to drive with the balls of my feet in Boston traffic LOL.

Oh and ladies...that whole get ready for sandles in the summer thing.....if you ever end up with little callouses - soak or go to the doc. Don't use the little CVS callous removers...in the words of the previously mentioned doc "you're putting acid onto and burning your feet". I'm sure he had a hard time not calling me a twit as well.

Mohawk 2007

Posted by PandaFan at 09:42 PM on June 25, 2007 in Camping & Hiking.

Back from vacation and I'm trying to devise a plan on how to go back - soon. You know how it is on Monday after vacation. It will pass and I will accept reality - eventually.

New Gallery has lots of photos of the times had by all. Me, James Royer of Littleton Mass, his puppy, and oh yeah- the bear. All quite interesting to you all, I am sure.

http://www.tabulas.com/~PandaFan/gallery/59950/

1. More photos of the rustic cabin, the surroundings - including the bath house. Why didnt I get a picture of the tent area or the dishwashing station? I don't know - maybe next time for all of those inquiring minds.

2. Not much going on with the hiking things unfortunately but, my current nerves are keeping me on the kiddie/old folks trails and not even much with those. Lots of roadside Geocaching to be done. I think we found about 12 out of 20 - Jim knows better-he keeps detailed records.

3. Not much fishing on this outing either. What boring stuff, eh? Jim did catch a bass - you can see the poor little thing in the gallery. Yes, he did throw him back.

4. Abby was both a joy and a concern. Bringing a puppy out into the woods will bring your childhood excitement back and at the same time make you a nervous nellie. She sat by the river trying to figure out the water and its depth with her little paw slowly pushing into the stream or puddle. It was cute. She'd get excited and start running around like a nut too. Her favorite spot was at the corner of the driveway watching everyone coming and going from the bathhouse. Oh so interesting. She also spent time in the weeds - poison ivy and all. The chipmunks and birds kept her sighthound instincts alive. The flies kept her reflexes on edge. We did finally hear her bark - thank goodness. Just got dark, had the fire going and she's over on the driveway and she gets up and barks twice. Got our attention. Thought maybe the raccoons were arriving. Jim went to check it out - yeah - um - no - it was Mr. Bear.

5. About Mr. Bear. I love the fella, I really do. I'd love him more at a greater distance. Really. Do I want the Black Bear of the wood to come up in the dark and scare the heck out of me? No, I really dont. It's all so exciting - especially with a little puppy. Heck, without her it's crazy enough. I like seeing Mr. Bear out in the field, scrambling through the woods and even skirting the cabins for opportunity. I don't like Mr. Bear  sniffing the porch, putting his nose in the dogs bowl and you know what -- I really dont like when he takes my drink right out of my chair cup holder and gets his slimy tongue all over my cup. It's pretty gross. Pretty amazing that he knows to take a cup out of a cup holder too. He's not stupid. Neither am I. I go into the cabin - it's all good. Yep, you can call me a sissy girl - I really dont care. The bear is great in the woods, not around the cabin. Okay so - lots of pictures of Mr. Bear in the gallery as well. He visited most nights. Joy.

6. Picturesque. It's all so quite calm, refreshing and picturesque. Since I couldn't go rambling through the woods I decided to go back into my artsy fartsy picture taking so, dont mind if you dont enjoy those types of pics - it kept me entertained. If you like them though - they're in the gallery as well - enjoy!

I'm sure there's more I've forgotten to share and if you have any questions aobut any of the shots - just ask I'm not sure when I'll get the time to put in descriptions.
